ScientificFly adds the 21711NSL to its range of saltwater hooks. The 21711NSL is one of the most versatile saltwater fly hooks on the market today, made from light weight, yet extremely strong high carbon steel with a chemically sharpened point and the newly developed NSL coating to make your flies last longer.
The idea behind it was to develop a lightweight but strong fly hook that is non-stainless but would lasts longer, after being exposed to saltwater, than other non-stainless hooks on the market and that is more versatile than most other hook styles. In other words, one must be able to use this one style, in various sizes, for almost any fly.
The result is the 21711NSL, which is a lightweight high carbon steel hook, with a straight point and a shank length that can accommodate a popper without closing the gape. It has a relative short shank, which will help eliminate leverage while fighting fish and it is chemically sharpened, which means that you don't have to sharpen them at all. The hook will last for around 3 months after being exposed to saltwater due to the newly developed NSL coating.
The 21711NSL is available from your nearest dealer in sizes #6/0, 4/0, 2/0, 1/0, 2 and 6 so you can tie anything from small crustaceans for bonefish, wave garick, redfish and threadfins to streamers for springer, shad, tarpon, trevalle and even offshore flies for billfish, wahoo and tuna.
